The "next big thing" in video production has arrived and likely to replace the Betacam family in due course.
The high-definition, wide screen version of the DV magnetic tape format.
Introduced in 2003, HDV uses 4:2:0 color sampling, MPEG-2 video and MPEG-1 audio compression.

4:1:1 is the sampling rate is used with the consumer DV format, along with DVCAM and DVCPRO.
4:2:2 sampling rate is used with Digital-S, DVCPRO-50, Digital Betacam, D-1 and D-5.

High Definition Video: HDV is a video format that uses the HD line resolution (1080i or 720p).

In 2008 Sony announced/introduced HVR-S270 a professional camcorder, capable of recording in what Sony have called Native Progressive Recording mode. The new Sony camcorders use true progressive sensors. (see picture above)

The Beauty of High Definition Cameras
The quality of the images produced by HDV cameras are often quite stunning. The -on board- computers of these cameras can correct lighting conditions and can counteract hand shaking.  Zooming to 10x or greater are no longer unusual.  They really are very clever pieces of equipment.
Since 2008, we offer complete HDV solutions for your next video project.
Bottom line:  You want the best picture you can get for your money, right?
HD videotaping is the answer.
